Mid-Year Update – 2023

UAE

In addition to the variety of other projects we are currently undertaking, this period has been particularly busy for our Data Centre portfolio. Nathan, Tony, Thilanka, Vidura and the wider team, in partnership with Straightline Consulting, have successfully delivered a significant Data Centre scheme in Dubai. Countless manhours, grit and determination have all paid off, with all vendors pulling together to achieve final TOC. Our client has publicly commended our team, again demonstrating our projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest of standards.

Meanwhile in Abu Dhabi, L4 and L5 testing across the 6 PODs of AD’s largest data centre is in full swing for Metin, Yaser and the team as we head towards the major milestones. All Uptime validation has been a success to date, providing confidence to our client that we will attain another successful handover.

Mike over in Dubai has a little more breathing space as we populate our software platform, Core Centrum by Facility Grid with the Commissioning Plan, trackers, reports etc and confirm our scope to provide TAB services and the technical authoring for all Operating and Maintenance manuals. Essentially “the calm before the storm”

Midfield Terminal continues to remain very active for Barry, Louise, and our team, with ADAC requesting us, in addition to our “day job”, to assist in FM operator training as we enter full operation mode before the region prepares to welcome the first flight into one the worlds largest airports. There will be some celebrations on the horizon for all involved.

BAHRAIN

Bahrain continues to foster growth with multiple new appointments engaged via a number of developers. Fadi, Rob and the team are providing MEP design, CxA and Project Management Consultancy services solidifying our presence in this expanding market.

KSA

KSA continues steady growth with several Framework Agreements in place, several high-profile assignments already completed including KAFD and SPARK Phase 1. The major news however is the securing of all trade license activities enabling us to operate across the entire Kingdom moving forward.

UK

Andy Britnell, together with Jon Corden (JCC) have been busy securing opportunities and partnerships within the UK, specializing in Fire Life Safety, Clerk of Works, building compliance and dilapidation surveys. Works to date include significant government and developer appointments to identify and manage out FLS deficiencies, enhance legacy installations to meet current standards, ensuring all our client’s investments are protected.

COMMERCIAL SERVICES

In addition to being a member of our Senior Management team and heading up our commercial and finance functions, in conjunction with our UK MD Andy Britnell, our Commercial Director Ronan Keating has enhanced our already successful expert witness and litigation support offering, by adding a wealth of experience in the Construction and Insurance claims sectors. Ronan has developed our cost management department which is focused on providing our clients with commercial advice on subjects such as construction / insurance claims cost management, specifically tailored to the MEP industry. The enhancement of our existing commercial support offering and the addition of our cost management function, further encapsulates the wide range of capabilities and services that we offer our clients as a diverse technical engineering consultancy.

In summary, we continue to deliver challenging and complex MEP construction projects from initial design studies to construction and commissioning, by supporting developers, building owners and main contractors throughout a projects entire life cycle.
